Forging Manipulators
Hot-metal handling with 360° locking rotation
The Forging Manipulator is a specialised attachment designed for the smelting and metalworking industries. It enables the safe and precise handling of hot smelting products, significantly reducing labour intensity while protecting the operator from extreme environments.
A forging manipulator lets a forklift grip, rotate and present hot metal — billets, castings and smelting product — under full hydraulic control, with bidirectional locks that hold the load at any angle. The operator works at a distance from the heat instead of alongside it with tongs.
Everything about the attachment is built for the environment: heat-tolerant construction, a frame sized for continuous heavy duty, and a sightline that lets the operator place a piece into a die or a furnace mouth accurately. In a forge or foundry it removes both the manual effort and the burn exposure from the handling step.
Also known as: Hot metal manipulator · Foundry manipulator · Forging clamp
Benefits
- 360° continuous rotation with bidirectional hydraulic locks for precision
- High-strength structural design built for high-heat and intensive workloads
- Excellent visibility allows the operator to perform precise movements
- Self-locking at any angle ensures safety when handling molten or hot material
Where it is used
- Forges presenting billets to presses and hammers
- Foundries moving hot castings from the pour to knock-out
- Smelters handling ingot and process product
- Heavy fabrication where sections come out of a furnace

Capacities, jaw ranges and rotation are model-specific — the exact figures are confirmed against your truck and load when we quote.
Fits ISO Class II, III and IV fork carriages
In service on Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Jungheinrich, TCM, Manitou, JCB, Feeler, Yale and Komatsu trucks across the region.
- Hydraulic attachments run off the truck’s auxiliary services; where a truck has too few, an additional service or a solenoid selector can be fitted.
- Mechanical attachments slip over standard fork arms and need no hydraulic connection at all.
- Fitting an attachment changes the truck’s rated capacity, so the derated capacity plate is confirmed as part of the quote.
South Africa & Zambia
Attachments are supplied from Nelspruit for South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini and Lesotho, and through the Kitwe branch for Zambia, the Copperbelt and the southern DRC corridor.
- South Africa — head office, warehouse and service in Nelspruit, with stockholding in Johannesburg
- Zambia — branch office and warehouse in Kitwe, plus a supply depot in Solwezi
- Cross-border freight and documentation arranged per consignment where the destination requires it
