Man & Safety Cages
Forklift safety cages are platforms used to lift a warehouse employee or employees to high-access areas to perform an occasional or short-duration task.
They are also referred to as a man cage, a man basket or a forklift working platform. The purpose is narrow and deliberate: short-duration work at height where installing permanent access equipment is not warranted.
Correct selection matters — the cage must suit the truck, the task and the operating procedure around it. We can advise on the right configuration for your fleet and application.

Man & Safety Cages — questions
- 01Is it legal to lift people on a forklift?
- Only in a platform designed, rated and guarded for personnel, on a suitable truck, under a written procedure. A pallet cage or a bin is not a substitute, and we will not quote one for that duty.
- 02When is a safety cage the right answer?
- For occasional, short-duration access — a light fitting, a valve, a stock check — where installing permanent access equipment or hiring a MEWP cannot be justified. Routine work at height needs proper access equipment.
